I finished reading Still Life With Rice by Helie Lee last night. Modern Korean history is horrific as with all war torn countries. My life is such a luxury in comparison. I passed the book along to Joo. I decided to give books away just like Scott. It also reduces clutter.

My new car's name is Enoch. All my car's have been named after obscure biblical male characters with five letter names so following tradition I chose Enoch as I was driving my new car home from the dealership. You can read about Enoch in the Bible at Genesis 5:18-24, Hebrews 11:5, and Jude 14-15. My car is a 2003 Honda Accord V6 EX 2-door coupe in silver with black leather interior. It still has the new car scent. I love the seat warmers! Sadly, I noticed a few scratches and dots of chipped paint as I was helping Erik wax the car yesterday. I am not heartbroken though since it was inevitable and it is after all just an object. Erik has also added HID lights and fog lights to Enoch. The fog lights really make the car look sportier. I was surprised. So far, I am very happy with my new car. I hope it lasts me a good ten years at least!

My cousin, Su, gave birth to her first son on May 8th. He was huge for an Asian baby weighing 8 lbs. 32 oz. at birth. Su and Phil named him Evan. He's a cutey!!!

"On that day -- August 15, 1945 -- thirty-six years of colonial oppression had come to an end with Japan's unconditional surrender." - Still Life With Rice by Helie Lee

I've finally been able to read for pleasure again since beginning my job in March. I finished up my track last week and started my vacation this week. The last three weeks of school was intense with preparations for open house, state exams, report cards, cumulative cards, registers, and packing up the whole class. It reminded me of going through finals week in college. I was physically exhausted so I slept and slept and slept as soon as my break began. I even got an hour of professional massage at Burke Williams while Susan and Emily received a facial. The firm grip that Alex greeted me with told me that I would experience some pain. She led me to a dimly lit room with zen meditation music playing softly in the background. The hour flew by and I left feeling very relaxed.

Hopefully I won't be relaxing and sleeping the entire time I'm on break. I really need to clean up and organize. I also need to exercise. Today I had lunch with Jason at Santa Monica and he was telling me about his upcoming trip to Belize. I'm so proud of him for taking such a risky trip filled with adventure. I can't wait to see all of his pictures when he gets back!
